What began as a small community initiative to combat graffiti has grown into one of the most vibrant public art programs in Northern Nevada. The idea was simple: instead of constantly repainting utility boxes to cover graffiti, why not commission local artists to create murals? Since the program inception, vandalism on painted utility boxes has decreased dramatically, while community engagement with public art has soared.
